Updating the Door Controllers

You should update the door controllers using Update...All Controllers from the menu whenever you make changes to access rights in the database. You may also update selected controllers only using Update...Selected Controllers. This is useful when updating via a network with a very poor quality of service (QoS), since on such networks it can prove tricky getting all the controllers to update every time. It's also useful when updating controllers on several interfaces where the Access Manager PC is attached to a low bandwidth network; in these circumstances it is advisable to update the controllers in groups (each group being the controllers on one interface), since the length of time each controller does not respond to tag swipes will be reduced.

The symbol  !U!  indicates that following the instruction so indicated may mean that a hardware update will be required at some stage in the future. This essential process is not performed automatically in case you need to make a large number of changes, and intermediate changes would leave you with a non-functional or insecure system.
