Editing Users

To edit the information associated with a user:

  1. Select the user in the tree pane.
  2.  !U!  Edit the information in the properties pane.

ID

The Display Name is used to uniquely identify the user to you. It appears in the monitor window and in the log. It is also the name by which the user can log in if they have monitoring or administrative rights.

The First Name, Last Name, and Notes fields are for your covenience. The Notes field will be displayed in the roll-call view.

The     PhotoID     button is used to select or clear a file for use as a PhotoID. The button will not be visible unless the Use PhotoIDs option is turned on.

Security

The   Change Password   button can be used to change the password used by the user to log in (if they have monitoring or administrative rights). The operator can change their own password by selecting New...Password from the menu.

!U!  The Authorisation Level slider is used to adjust the user's ability to overide double-locked doors. This will not be displayed unless the Use Timed Access option is turned on.

The  Clear Passback Violations   button clears the user's passback violations, allowing him to move around the site freely again if anti-passback has been enforced. This will not be displayed unless the Anti-Passback Control option is turned on.

The check boxes  Administrator and  Can Monitor define the class of user. This will not be displayed unless the Advanced User Rights option is turned on.

!U!  The  Tag User check box is used to allocate and deallocate tags. If the Advanced User Rights option is turned off, tags are allocated when the user is created and deallocated when the user is deleted.

Fire Safety

Please note that the fire safety features of Access Manager are to help you identify which users may still be in the building, and should not be used as the only indication that a building is clear.

You can set the user's assembly point here. This will be used to group users if a roll-call is generated.

You can also manually set their status (for example, if you know someone has left the building by tailgating you can set their status so it shows correctly in Access Manager).

Telephone

This will not be visible unless the Telephone Information option is turned on.

The telephone numbers must all be numeric, but otherwise no special restrictions are placed on them.

Address

This will not be visible unless the Address Information option is turned on.

No special restrictions are placed on the formatting of the text.
